Golf Chipping Tips
One of the keys to success with
golf chipping tips is to choose the right club when deciding to hit this shot. Yes, having a good technique in playing this shot is important,
but club selection is important as well. Here's why.
Having confidence with the right club when chipping is your key to success. As a golfer, we all have our favorite club to hit. It may be a
3-iron in your case or in my case; it's an 8-iron. So what you want to do is go to the practice green and spend some time hitting chip shots with
various irons. Find the club that gives you the most confidence.
You often hear golfers say that you need to use different clubs for chipping depending on the slope of the green, distance, etc. That just
isn't a good idea. Why attempt to chip with a club that you have little confidence in? Eight times out of ten you will never have as good of
results as you would by using the club you like the most. I hope that makes sense. This chipping tip alone can help shave strokes off your
game.
Other Golf Chipping Tips
When hitting a chip shot, your goal is to hit the ball in the air 1/3 of the way and roll it the other two thirds to the hole.
Although you can use any club you wish when chipping, a 7-iron through the PW is generally ideal.
Position the ball back in your stance and take a short smooth swing through the ball.
To get the most out of your chipping will require practice. Pick out several different locations around the green such as off the fringe, in
the light rough about 10 yards from the green, off the fairway, etc. Practice these chip shots and you will be surprised at how fat you'll
improve your game.
So, one of the best golf chipping tips will be in remembering to use the one club you have the most confidence in and then practicing with it
until you feel comfortable in knowing you can score with it. If you'll do that, then chipping will never be a problem in your golf game
again.
Tips For Golf Tip #1
Work on developing a fundamentally solid, repetitive golf swing. Regardless of whether you are a beginning
golfer or accomplished pro, work on having a sound golf swing until it becomes second nature to you. It will help you play better golf as
well as enjoy the game so much more.
Tips For Golf Tips #2
Practice with a purpose. Whenever you go to the driving range always go to practice a specific part of
your golf game. Don't just hit balls all over the place like so many golfers do. Have a purpose in mind and you'll quickly begin improving
your golf game.
Tips For Golf Tips #3
Build up your strength and flexibility to gain more distance. The key to hitting the ball farther isn't
with the latest $400 driver from Callaway. It is about developing more strength and flexibility, especially in your golf specific muscles.
It's a sure way to gain 20-30 yards off the tee.
